MISSION

Vidyasagar Teachers Training Institute is affiliated with Baba Shaheb Ambedkar University, Kolkata and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Vidyasagar Teachers Training Institute has a variety of teaching amenities with the purpose of improving the learning processes of the students. A good library, which is well-endowed with all sorts of resource, is an important source of information necessary for effective planning of teachers. It has plenty of contemporary teaching and learning resource rooms, which play a significant role of offering practical lessons in education laboratories. For a purposeful growth, the institute has facilities to play sports, gym to ensure that the students have good health along with knowledge. A campus has an auditorium for event and seminars that add life to the campus setup and learning process. On the same note, the IT facilities in the institute are excellent and has Wi-Fi facilities in the entire campus making the students ready for the era of technological enhanced education. Accommodation is also provided for male and female students in two different hostel facilities for students coming from different far places.

VISION

The Vidyasagar Teachers Training Institute has two courses for full time teachers training programme each designed for a different area of teachers training. The course of Bachelor of Education B. Ed, Intake 100 is meant for those candidates who wish to teach at Secondary & Higher Secondary level. One of the new courses that admit 50 students is the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) The course is designed to produce teachers to handle classes at the primary and upper primary levels. Both are taking two years; the course mainly confining with permutations of pedagogical expertise and his or her educational paradigms. It has total enrolment of 150 students in these two programmes which shows that the institute specifically targets at training teachers.
